Frequently Asked Questions

Only Teachers and Site Admin have the ability to create and edit a Group in Launchpad. As a Teacher or Admin, you can use the 'Groups' tab to create groups, edit group members, and manage the apps assigned to each of your Groups.

Students also have access to the Groups tab. While students can not edit or create groups in this tab, they are able to use it to view all groups which they have been added to, as well as directly access Apps assigned to each group they are a part of.

How do I add an additional user to a group I created?

Once in the ‘Groups’ tab, select the name of the Group you want to edit (in the left-hand “my groups” column). Upon selecting a group, a new editing window will appear to the right of the “my groups” column. This area is where you can view and manage members of that group.

How do I add/delete the Apps assigned to a group?

Similair to editing the users in a group, you manage the apps assigned to a group within the ‘Groups’ tab. Once there, select the name of the Group Apps you want to edit (in the left-hand “my groups” column). Upon selecting a group, two new editing windows will appear to the right of the “my groups” column. The third, right-hand column which will display is where details of the Group Apps can be managed. You can both view the current group apps as well as add new ones using the + symbol.

How do I hide a group?

In the "my groups" column, the icon displayed to the right of the group name will show an Eye Open (to indicate a group is visible) or an Eye Closed (to indicate the group is hidden). Clicking directly on the eye icon is a way to hide or unhide that group.

Why do some Groups have an “X” while others do not?

Groups with X’s have been manually created and you can delete them. Apps without X’s have been created from the School Directory Sync and cannot be deleted by you.
